Several persons have been arrested, a few houses and vehicles gutted when groups belonging to two communities clashed over a trivial issue in Mysore on Thursday.

According to the police, the violence was triggered after a man, who went to an STD booth to make a call in the communally sensitive Ghousia Nagar at Kyatamaranahalli, had a verbal dual over a trivial issue.u00a0


Soon heated arguments ensued which turned violent. Both the groups pelted stones at each other and ransacked houses and shops. A few vehicles were also set fire. Two police officers were injured in the clash.u00a0



Police rushed to the spot to defuse tension. Prohibitory orders have been clamped in the area.
